Hey Lucy......

Why Lucy?  Why Not!  Well, the fact of the matter is that there is a special bond that I hold with "Ethel." You see, she truly is my best friend.  Ok, really more like a sister to me.  She has been an amazing beacon of light in my life.  Whenever I mess it up (like "downing" the chocolates off of the conveyer belt because I just can't keep up) I look to Ethel for inspiration.  The truth is, she accepts me for who I am.  I know what you are thinking; crazy right?  Well, not exactly.  I suppose she sees something in me that even I cannot see.  It's as if our Lord has given her a direct line into a very complicated and, at times, very confused person.  She see me.  She sees into my heart.  No strings attached..... A girl couldn't ask for anything more.

  1. Look, Lucy. It's been evident since the beginning of our friendship that God has been pursuing you. You have always had someone from MCC around you. Ever notice that? I always found it completely amazing and beautiful. And really all Lucy ever wanted was to be understood and loved for who she was. Ethel always knew and understood her. Even helped her pull some of the antics off if I remember correctly. Lucy, you've always been there for me and that has been one of the most difficult things for you and your heart to go thru. I can't wait to see the plans God has for you. You are a part of my heart and that is all there is to it!
I think Ethel ate quite a few of those chocolates too. Anything for Lucy!

  2. It takes a long time to grow an old friendship--it's beautiful to see from the outside. What a treasure you have in each other.

    1. It is such fun when God plants people in your life. I've come to recognize it when I am overwhelmed with a feeling that "I've known someone my whole life." I believe that is His work. He really gave me a "swift kick" yesterday when I started chatting with you; books, reading, school..... PSYCHOLOGY! Yes, I too was a psych major. In fact, I finished all of my classes for my bachelors degree when He picked me up and sent me in a different direction. So cool! I can tell you that I am glad that is the way that part of my life worked out because I use that background everyday when I am working with kids. So, hello friend! The "I've known you my whole life" feeling is very real.....

    2. Of course there is much that I don't know about you, but the psychology thing really surprised me--not for any other reason than you're a teacher! There are days that I shake my head and wonder what the heck I'm doing--then I usually get a good swift kick in the rear and trudge forward! I'm really looking forward to knowing you better! "It's such fun when God plants people in your life..." that's a perfect description--I couldn't agree more!
